Realme Watch S Pro confirmed: Launching 23 December

Realme’s first “premium and high-end” smartwatch is set to go live in the coming week.

The Realme S Watch Pro, which has been teased on Twitter over the past couple of weeks, now has a launch date: 23 December.

The launch date for the Realme S Watch Pro was revealed alongside a bunch of key features and specs on a special event page, set up ahead of the big reveal.

The follow up to the budget Realme Watch S, which went on sale last month, the Pro adds a stainless steel case and a larger, 1.39-inch, AMOLED display to the mix.

That display boasts a 454 x 454 resolution; that equates to an impressive 326ppi count. Brightness is touted as 450nits.

We’re told that battery life is 14 days from just a 2 hour charge, and that the Watch S Pro is rated at 5ATM, so you will be able to take it swimming.

Talking of swimming and that’s one of the 15 sports modes on offer from the Pro. There’s also the likes of running, cycling, cricket, spinning, rowing, yoga and weight training.

The Watch S Pro also boasts an optical heart rate sensor that can continuously measure heart rate, show you your resting heart rate and measure effort levels during workouts. That sensor can also be used to take blood oxygen measurements for another glimpse into your fitness levels.

The confirmed specs and features follow weeks of online teasing from Realme executives.

Tweets from the company’s vice president and CEO of Realme India & Europe, Madhav Sheth suggested that the launch was imminent, with a series of tweets containing videos and images of the Watch S Pro, going live earlier in December.

The Realme Watch S Pro was actually first teased at its IFA 2020 presentation in September, where it stated a 2020 launch would happen.

However, with the standard Watch S being announced in November, it was assumed that the Pro might have to wait for 2021. But that’s clearly now not the case.

The original Realme Watch S switched from the square look on the original Realme Watch to a circular case design that’s made from an aluminium alloy.

The Watch S retails for around £90, we’d expect a Pro variant to add 25-50% on top of this.
